In June 2007 Jaynie was invited by Dance Anthropologist and Smithsonian fellow Dra. Adriana Cruz-Manjarrez to be the Visual Ethnographer for her documentary film project, “W-Zon of Faith.” This project, which grew out of the decade long research of Dra. Cruz-Manjarrez, focuses on the intersection of dance performance, religion, and transnational migration of Zapotecs from the community of Villa de Hiladlgo Yalalag in Oaxaca, Mexico to Los Angeles, California. Dra. Cruz-Manjarrez is currently Professor at the University of Colima in Mexico. The project is in post production and is scheduled for release in 2011.
